This time of year is about giving and what better way to give to charity than to make a group of people play video games for 24 hours straight? That’s right. The podcast crew will be staying up all night for charity.
This years chosen charity is Child’s Play. This wonderful organization purchases new consoles, peripherals, games, and more for hospitals and therapy facilities. These donations allow for children to enjoy age-appropriate entertainment, interact with their peers, friends, and family, and can provide vital distraction from an otherwise generally unpleasant experience.
This very special stream will feature special guests and actual Minecraft as well as many other games. There will be prizes from Steam key giveaways to a guest appearance on the podcast. There is even the possibility of a weenie whistle and a couple of gift cards to Amazon. So come recover from celebrating the new year by hanging out and ushering in the new year with the Podcast Crew. The stream will start at 8pm GMT on January 1st and run until 8pm GMT on January 2nd.
The goal for this wonderful event is $500. If we can reach with lofty goal, there are stretch goals with even more contests and prizes as well as another stream after the podcast on Friday at 9pm GMT.
Stretch Goals are as follows:
For every $100 over the goal of $500, will add an hour of streaming after the podcast
For every $200 over the goal of $500, an extra steam key for a random game will be given away
For every $500 over the goal of $500, a $25 Amazon gift card will be given away
Every penny donated will be given straight to Child’s Play through their website so that no member of the MCME Podcast will touch this precious money.
The stream will be on www.twitch.tv/mcmepodcast
Hope to see you there!
