$1.8 million - Over halfway to our fundraising goal for 2013!

Gamers from around the world have now donated $1.8 million in toys, games, and more to benefit kids in hospitals and domestic violence shelters in 2013! With the holidays fast approaching, it’s easy to get caught up in plans and celebrations: the fact that so many gamers make an effort to positiviely impact the lives of kids in a tough situation is absolutely inspirational. If you’d like to give, you can do so by donating here, or picking items off an Amazon wishlist for a specific facility here.

Like many around the world, our thoughts over the past week have been with communities impacted by Typhoon Haiyan. If you’re interested in donating directly to the cause, a list of recommended non-profits from Guidestar can be found here. We know firsthand how incredibly generous gamers can be, and there are many people in desperate need there.

Our 10th Anniversary celebration Dinner Auction is December 5th and there are still a few tickets left. If you’re interested in donating an auction item, email Jamie - jdillion@childsplaycharity.org - the auction is always an incredible mix of game collectibles, unique art, tours of incredible studios, and more. You don’t want to miss it!

In case you’re just tuning in for the holidays, we just announced an expansion of Child’s Play: we will now be assisting children in domestic violence shelters. Our pilot program is well underway and we’re planning to open applications for the general program in Spring 2014. 2013 Child’s Play Dinner & Auction

We’re pleased to invite you to the 2013 Child’s Play Dinner and Auction, celebrating the 10th Anniversary of gamers giving back. That’s right- in November of 2003, gamers from around the world united to make the holidays brighter for kids at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Ten years and nearly 90 hospitals later, Child’s Play has raised over $17 million for sick kids. Join us for a delightful evening of geeky curiosities, bidding wars, delicious dinner and some extra-special 10th Anniversary celebrations.

In addition to the dinner, silent and live auctions, this year we will be hosting a post-dinner cocktail hour, featuring live music by the Doubleclicks. We are also welcoming our friends Scott Kurtz and Kris Straub as hosts and auctioneers for the evening.

Date/Time: Silent Auction begins at 6:30 PM, Live Auction and Dinner begin at 7:30 PM December 5th, 2013 (THURSDAY), ending at 1AM
Attire: Formal/Semi-Formal, no jeans please. Tuxedos and gowns encouraged, especially for our 10th Anniversary Celebration! Show off a little extra this year for your friends and peers.

Will-call only, no tickets will be mailed. Please bring your confirmation email and photo ID to the Program Pick-Up/Registration on site.

Dinner Menu Choices:
Coffee & ancho chili rubbed chicken, mashed sweet potato, roasted chicken jus, rainbow carrots
Herb garlic marinated grilled hanger steak, sherry bacon jus, hashed root vegetables
Butternut Squash Ravioli With chanterelle mushrooms, apple & brown butter sage sauce

There will be appetizers served during the silent auction, and dessert included with dinner service.
Tax Information: $75 of your ticket price is tax-deductible (ticket price less the actual cost of dinner). There are no refunds for this event, but tickets are transferable.

Spring is here, and that means the Third Annual Child’s Play Invitational approaches quickly! Tickets are now available for a day of friendly competition for the kids: get yours here.
